It’s homecoming in the Alamo City as San Antonio FC welcomes LA Galaxy 2 to open Toyota Field for the 2017 USL season.

Both the Silver and Black and Los Dos came away with three points in their respective season openers last week. LA managed two goals against Vancouver Whitecaps 2 despite losing one of 2016’s biggest scoring threats in Jack McBean. SA earned their first win in club history against regional rival RGVFC, with the lone goal of the match coming  from fan favorite Billy Forbes.

SAFC could be forced to replace defender Cyprian Hedrick in the starting XI. The veteran was forced to sub out of his first match with SAFC in the first half after taking an awkward collision with an RGV player. If Hedrick is unable to go, 2016 SAFC starter Stephen McCarthy will be ready to try to win his starting role back.

Match Details:
Game Two. San Antonio, TX. Saturday 4/1/2017. Kickoff 7:30 CDT

How to Watch:
SanAntonioFC.com, USL Match Center

Keys for SAFC:
LA2 could prove to be more of a defensive challenge than RGV. Asserting an attacking mentality and feeding off of what will likely be a sellout crowd will be important for SAFC. If Elizondo and Forbes can continue the good chemistry they showed in RGV, it should be enough to come away with three points at home.

Player to Watch:
Billy Forbes is back at Toyota Field for the first time since 2015. Expect the former Scorpions player to put on a show for the fans he seems to have missed.

Pitch Black News Projected Starting XI (4-3-3):
Cardone; Newnam, Ibeagha, McCarthy, Cochrane; Castillo, Pecka, Reed; Tyrpak, Elizondo, Forbes

Score Prediction:
SAFC 2-1 LAG2
