At the same time the Spurs faced off in game 1 against OKC Thunder, Toyota Field was just shy of full as San Antonio FC (2-2-2) hosted another Oklahoma team, Tulsa Roughnecks FC (1-4-1). Both of the San Antonio teams achieved decisive victories, and the experience helped ease fears that Toyota Field would be empty on nights where the Spurs were also playing.

In the days that followed, fans of SAFC had plenty to be proud about as multiple players from the club achieved various honors.

Rafa Castillo was named to the USL Team of the Week in part because of the massive goal he scored from well outside the box.

Finally, midfielder Seba Thuriere was named to Haiti’s 40-man preliminary roster for the upcoming Copa America.

SAFC Game 2-1-8

All-in-all a great first showing in a streak that will see San Antonio play at home for 4 of 5 matches and a U.S. Open Cup match. The next bout will be against the club’s closest geographic rivals Rio Grande Valley FC Toros this Saturday, May 7th.
