Four days away from San Antonio FC’s return to Toyota Field feels like the perfect time to feature a shot of the player who wears the number 4 shirt, rookie Sam McBride.

McBride came to SAFC from Elon University, the school that head coach Darren Powell helmed for years before moving to Orlando City’s development program. Many expected the defender to be a third option at center back behind McCarthy and Okiomah, but a strong pre-season showing saw McBride get the spot next to McCarthy while Okiomah seems to have been moved to forward.

A major part of why SA has never given up more than 1 goal in a game, McBride is trending in all the right directions in his first professional season.

San Antonio FC will take on Tulsa at home this Saturday, April 30th. Few tickets remain, so if you want to be a part of the magic make sure to visit SanAntonioFC.com
